Finding the perfect trifecta of fit, fabric and quality in a t-shirts has been a hot topic of conversation in dressing rooms with clients recently. I did a little research (and tried on a lot of t-shirts) to compile this list of my favorite brands and styles that I’m confident will soon become your favorites as well.
First up is Everlane, one of my favorite online retailers. I’m love their transparency around pricing and manufacturing practices. Their t-shirts tend to be more on the laid-back side so they look amazing with jeans or work trousers. Their styles range from v-necks to u-necks and scoop necks and all are made from cotton and linen. For a loose fitting tee that doesn’t drown you check out their oversized v-neck, the slouchy cotton slub or the linen v-neck. If you want a form-fitting option take a look at their cotton u-neck, cotton v-neck and cotton crew neck. With the weather getting warmer you may want to check out their muscle tanks to show off your tanned arms. Their tees are categorized by fit making it easy to find what you’re looking for.
Another clear winner was Rag & Bone. You may know this brand for their cool style and awesome jeans, but they also make high quality and flattering t-shirts that start at $60. Like Everalne, they make a variety of styles in differing fits and colors. Their best selling tee is the slacker short sleeve that has a scoop neck and is fitted making it the perfect Saturday uniform t-shirt.
James Perse t-shirts can run on the pricier side, but their quality is undeniable. They carry a wide range of styles, and have some tighter fitting t-shirts like their u-neck tee that comes in awesome earth tone colors or the casual v-neck that comes in eye-catching colors like pink. For a more relaxed fit, take a look at their Dolman tee or their Shell top. If I had to pick one style from this brand, I'd say go with their Wrap Back Tank featured above.
If spending more than $50 on a t-shirt isn’t your thing then Madewell t-shirts are for you. Madewell focuses on creating products that are “made well” while still being affordable. Their t-shirts have a casual look to them with a variety of colors and styles including crewneck, scoop necks and v-necks that have a relaxed fit ensuring that they're not t00 clingy. My pick is their Anthem crewneck and it's currently on sale for $29.99.
